Henry Ballantyne Club_Mural_1_mount
This five exposure pano-stitch of the mural was my best method for photographing such a large piece of work. Shot under natural light to avoid as much reflection as possible and tweaked and straightened to the final edit and crop.
The mural inside the Henry Ballantyne Institute (known locally as the HB Club), in Walkerburn, Scottish Borders, is one of those amazing treasures that are not well known to those unfamiliar with the club or its activities. The mural occupies the eastern wall in the lounge bar and celebrates the lives of the local characters who have supported the club over the years. It was painted by local fine artist Alan Liversedge and he employs various themes from the arts to represent them, many of whom are no longer with us today.
