Learmont Drysdale Monument-0077

Sitting atop Damhead Rig, just beyond Traquair and above Kirkhouse, is the memorial cairn to composer George John Learmont Drysdale; 3 October 1866 – 18 June 1909). During a short career he wrote music inspired by Scotland, particularly the Scottish Borders; this included orchestral music, choral music and songs. He died unmarried and is buried in Peebles. Taken on Monday, 26th February 2019.
