The last remaining cashmere mill in Innerleithen closed in April 2013.
Formerly a word class cashmere brand (Ballantyne's) was acquired d by an Italian firm Charma Investments in 2004 then again by a management buy-out in 2010.
It's significance and 200 year history in Innerleithen since 1778 can never be forgotten or replaced.
