Dryburgh Tower by Ward Law_5745_5D

Dryhope Tower stands above Dryhope Farm on the nothern hillside approaching St Mary's Loch. Built in the late Middle Ages (1500's AD), to protect land owners and their livestock from raids by Border Reivers, English and Scots armies. It lies at the western end of the Yarrow Valley beside Ward Law and Mid Hill in the Scottish Borders where the Southern Upland Way crosses.
